John Glendinning graduated with a BSc in 1995 at Rhodes University (Grahamstown). Thereafter, he completed his BSc Honours (Geology) at Rhodes University (1996) and a MSc Environmental Geochemistry at the University of Cape Town in 1997.
He started working at Jones & Wagener in 1997 as a Scientist. He obtained his Pr Sci Nat in 2002.
In 2003, John became an Associate and in 2008 was promoted to Technical Director. In 2011, John was promoted to the Head of the Environmental Sciences and Environmental Management Departments and in 2014, John was promoted to Director and remains in this position to date
John’s involvement in contaminated land assessments ranges from mining, heavy industrial, petrochemical, radioactive and waste disposal sites. It includes soil, surface water and groundwater contamination assessments, as well as evaluating the need for remediation. John has also been involved in the evaluation and implementation of a range of remediation / mitigation measures. John is also actively involved in geochemical and hydrogeological investigations on a diverse range of brownfields and greenfields mining sites.
John has also been called upon as an expert witness in court cases relating to contaminated land assessments.
John is currently a member of SACNASP, SAIEG and IWMSA.
