Taaibosch Puts Energy Cluster:
Final Basic Assessment Impact Reports (FBARs) submitted to the Competent Authority
Jones & Wagener (Pty) Ltd Engineering and Environmental Consultants (J&W) is conducting the respective permitting processes for the proposed Taaibosch Puts Energy Cluster which consists of the following projects:
- Kora I-IV Solar PV Energy Facilities
- Koraqua I-V Solar PV Energy Facilities
- Khoemana Wind Energy Facility
- Gorachouqua I and II Wind Energy Facilities
- Korakobab Green Hydrogen Facility
- Kei Korana Green Ammonia Facility
- Electrical Grid Infrastructure for the various components of the project
The proposed projects are located approximately 6 km west of Lime Acres, 28 km south-west of Danielskuil and 30 km east of Postmasburg in the Tsantsabane Municipality, Northern Cape. The proposed components collectively comprise approximately 11 855 ha.
The Final Environmental Impact Reports (FEIRs) for Kora I – IV Solar PV, Koraqua I – V Solar PV, Gorachouqua I – II Wind Energy Facility, and Khoemana Wind Energy Facility were submitted to the competent authority– the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (DFFE) between 5 and 8 March 2024.

It is important to direct comments to the correct Competent Authority, the respective case officers and to use the correct reference number/s. Please see the table below for ease of reference.

The Final Basic Assessment Reports (FBARs) for the Electrical Grid Infrastructure (EGI) for the respective facilities have been submitted to the Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs and Rural Development (DAEARD) on 11 April 2024.
The Final Environmental Impact Reports (FEIRs) for the Kei Korana Green Hydrogen Facility and the Korakobab Green Ammonia Facility have been submitted to the DAEARDLR for their decision. A decision is still awaited and notification in this respect will be sent to stakeholders when received.
