Water Use Licence Granted for Sasol South Africa (Pty) Ltd: Changes to the discharge volumes of the Sasol One and Sasol Midland discharge points at the Sasolburg and Ekandustria Operations, Free State
The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has granted Sasol South Africa (Pty) Ltd an amendment of a Water Use Licence (WUL) in terms of changes proposed to the discharge volumes of the Sasol One and Sasol Midland discharge points at the Sasolburg and Ekandustria Operations, Metsimaholo Local Municipality in the Free State Province.
The WUL was granted in terms of Chapter 4 of the National Water Act, (NWA), Act 36 of 1998 (as amended).
The following water uses are authorised by this WUL:
| 1. | Section 21 (f) of the NWA | Discharging waste or water containing waste into a water resource, subject to the conditions set out in Appendices I and II. |
| 2. | Section 21 (g) of the NWA | Disposing of waste in a manner which may detrimentally impact on a water resource, subject to the conditions as set out in Appendices I and II. |
