Environmental Authorisation

Environmental Authorisation (EA) was granted for the development of the up to 130MW Phula Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Facility and its associated infrastructure on the remainder of Farm De Grooteboom 373 KT and Portion 2 of the Farm De Grooteboom 373 KT in the Limpopo province.

The EA was granted by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) on 05 March 2024, in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No.107 of 1998) as amended and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations – GNR 982 to GNR 985 of 4 December 2014, as amended.

Should any party wish to appeal any aspect of the decision, an appeal must be submitted to the appeal administrator, and a copy of the appeal to the applicant within 20 days of the date the EA was sent to Interested and Affected Parties. Stakeholders were notified on 8 March 2024.
