K2022578590 (South Africa) Pty Ltd is undertaking an EA application process in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulation 41(2) (a)(i) promulgated under National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998) Regulations, Government Notice Regulation (GN R) No. 326 in Gazette 38282 on 07 April 2017 for the proposed Phula Photovoltaic (PV) facility near Steelpoort in the Limpopo Province.
The project entails the development of a Solar PV facility with a generation capacity output of up to 130MW (DC Power) and associated infrastructure. The proposed development area covers approximately 249 hectares of land. The developer has identified two (2) alternatives for the grid connection infrastructure for the proposed facility that will be subjected to a separate EA application process. The proposed Phula PV project triggers the following listed activities under the NEMA EIA Regulations, as amended:

- Remainder of Farm 373 De Grooteboom KT, Landowner: Estate of the Late JR Le Grange.
- Portion 2 of Farm 373 De Grooteboom KT, Landowner: 4U2 Farm 002 CC
THE FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT (FEIR) SUBMITTED
The Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) was submitted to the Competent Authority (CA), the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (DFFE) on 17 November 2023.
