Dear stakeholders

The Environmental Authorisation for the application for the proposed expansion of Bitrad Agricultural Chemical Plant in the City of Tshwane has been granted by the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD) on 5 December 2024. The EA was received on 24 December 2024. Communication that requires stakeholder participation only commenced today after the festive season. Thus the communication on the EA only to stakeholders today, 6 January 2025.

As required, all registered interested and affected parties must be notified of the decision within 14 days of the of the date of receiving the Department’s decision (this is effective as from 6 January 2025). We would hereby like to draw your attention to the EIA Regulations, 2014 (please see below attachments), which prescribes the appeal procedure to be followed. As Interested and Affected Parties you will have the opportunity to appeal any aspect of the decision within 20 days of this notification.

Should any party wish to appeal any aspect of the decision, an appeal must be submitted to the appeal administrator, and a copy of the appeal to the applicant within 20 days of the date the EA was sent to Interested and Affected Parties.
