Jones & Wagener is seeking to employ an Environmental Scientist / Environmental Assessment Practitioner (1-3yrs exp. required) for undertaking regulatory approval processes, auditing and ECO work. This position forms part of the Environmental Management Department.

The requirements associated with the position are as follows (mandatory):

• BSc (Hons)
• 1 – 3 years of post-qualification experience
• Knowledgeable in environmental legislation such as NEMA, NWA, NEM:WA and NEM:AQA.
• Basic understanding of environmental regulatory processes for BA/S&EIRs, WULs, WML and AELs
• Good communication and report writing skills
• Drivers licence and own vehicle

Preference to candidates with the following skills and attributes:

• Experience in auditing and ECO type work
• Professional registration
• Completed Environmental Legislation courses
• Mining related experience
• Basic GIS skills
• Dynamic, self-motivated, takes responsibility and ownership of tasks.
• Solid organization, time-management skills, and attention to detail.

• Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.

The main duties associated with the position include the following:

• Compile proposals, reports and public participation documentation
• Undertake Basic Assessments, Scoping & Environmental Reporting processes, Water Use Licence Applications and Waste Management Licence Applications
• Audit Environmental Authorisations (and associated Environmental Management Programs), Water Use Licences and Waste Management Licences
• Compile Environmental Audit Reports
• Communication with client, internal and external specialists and other project team members
• Undertake site visits and present at meetings
