Landfill Gas Management

Wellhead

After the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol in February 2005 the opportunity to capture and destroy methane gas created in landfill sites, and to then trade the destroyed methane as Certified Emission Reductions (CER’s) under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), arose.  We have been responsible for the design and construction of various Landfill Gas (LFG) extraction and conveyance systems.  We have also been responsible, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, for  compiling of Project Identification Notes (PIN), compiling of Project Design Documents (PDD), submission of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for the gas extraction projects, assisting with supplying information required by the project validation team, submitting applications for host country approval and finally submitting applications for CDM Executive Board approval.
